You're right, Bren, there isn't. I was involved in several emergencies at Stansted over the years that made the papers, including controlling the hijacked Sudanese Airbus in 1996 and the Royal Squadron BAe 146 that almost fell out of the sky when the oil seals weren't replaced after servicing in 1997 (yes I know, I was jinxed). Every single newspaper who published the stories got something wrong, and the Daily Mail just made stuff up that was total rubbish about what the pilots had said, what we had said, etc. I'm not surprised they're still doing it - and it's inexcusable. Also Channel 4 made a documentary about the BAe 146 which included a staging of the radio calls etc. The controller was male, which is very odd as I've been a girl for the last 51 years.
