Information re Supermarine Type 546?
When I was a young apprentice at Supermarine's Experimental Hangar based at Hursley near Winchester, parked outside was an aircraft designated, as far as I remember, the 546. This aircraft had a air intake at the front much like that of the American Super Sabre (oval shaped), swept wings made from chemically etched thick skins for laminar flow. I often wonder what happened to it: does anyone have any more information about this aircraft? This was not the Swift 546!
