Strange as it may seem, my research now definitely confirms the cheapest and easiest way to go will be via the Aussie ATPL issue and then the TTMRA. Nice one NZCAA, I'm sure there's some flying instructor back in NZ that could have used the hours dualling me up in a Seneca, but once again Aussie practicality beats kiwi bureaucracy
