Yes, it might be equivalent to £50k, but the point is you're not getting it!
What you're getting is circa £29k for 7 months work - which is the same as a turbo-prop FO working full-time.
So unless you can find alternative employment for the remaining 5 months, you might as well be working full-time as a turbo-prop FO - was the point that was being made.
