Chess is a game of subtle manouevres, trying to outwit your opponent and capture the prize, whilst playing by the rules.
UNITE have encouraged BASSA to shatter hundreds of thousands of Christmas dreams, destroy the - albeit fading - reputation of a once great airline and threaten thousands of loyal employees with involuntary redundancy during the worst recession since the Great Depression.... to gain exactly what? Safeguard their members' jobs? Salaries? Terms and Conditions? When there ain't no airline to employ them? That's not subtle, that's mindless.
