Possibly one could look at the agenda of the hard
left who are running this union show.

Turner..TGWU.
Boyd. .AMICUS.
McCluskey..TGWU.

McCluskey is the left wing candidate to take over as Unite general secretary next year. If he pulls off this confrontation he will be in for certain.
No doubt the others move up the ladder in turn.

So it might not be a bad thing if BA went bust? Another miner's strike? A defeat for the hard left. Clearer, cleaner and quiter skies. There might be a few more people on the dole perhaps, (although if the staff were means tested they might not qualify, having enjoyed such huge salaries and potential savings in the past) but set against that, Terminal 5 would make a lovely refugee centre and the pension problems would just fade away into that BA sort of sunset..
