I believe so. Plenty of retired folks in Bournemouth hail from North East England. I do the route regularly for VFR purposes and generally use one of three options, depending on times and fares:
(i) flybe NCL-SOU then train;
(ii) train to EDI then Ryanair to BOH; or
(iii) Ryanair NCL-DUB-BOH.
A direct service would be great.
