I seem to remember that if either of these aircraft were in the climb or descent phase i.e. 39000 - 50000 they did not want to take vectors (or couldn't, particularly Concorde).
In level flight no particular problem.
When both were operating in the descent/climb phase in the same (rather large geopraphical) area it sterilised a rather large block of airspace.
