A sad day for the RAAF. Given the capabilities, and the inability to find a suitable replacement (and I mean proper replacement, not bit part players) I can't help but imagine the cost/difficulty would be of rebuilding/re-commencing production. Given todays technological advances, the improvements that could be made to an already outstanding machine would be huge.
But these decisions are made by people with far greater knowledge than people like us
