Closed!!!! as in not open for business, or do you mean the typical closed for the winter season where air traffic is massively reduced, in most cases non existant......this is still a 24 hour airport.
Service may be reduced at LBA and the winter months are the obvious choice for the redevelopment, as long as the job is done properly and in budget then this can only be hugely beneficial for LBA...i hope she continues to grow quicker than forcasted, I still think that 300 meteres of extra runway would be of use, then we might see an increase of heavier aircraft in to Leeds, a few 777 or a330 etc would be nice..
