Thanks Kubin. Yep, no sealed road between our abode on Horn and the airport. Wet season mean't a 45+ minute drive. And here I was thinking a BN2 may eventually rattle my fillings! Nothing compared to the drive out to the airport. Is the 'Mary Ellen' still chugging between TI & HID? I recall the 'Gateway' had just opened about the time I left. Before that, it was the pub at the mine, or TI which were the hangouts for us in those days.
