In terms of the IF thing it may have been different before I was there but when I was there no one cared if you had IF or not and there are plenty of Van pilots who did not,
I know of very few pilots in Maun WITHOUT IF ratings at the moment, they might not be current, but they have it! Oh, and by the way.......Bla Bla Bla...... I'm in Maun and have been for the last four years!

IFR rating is good in Maun, most companies like u to have it if u are going to move onto the Van, but also we spend most of our days between 075 and 105 in Haze and smoke, negative horizon.
I rest my case about the IFR thing now! You are just better qualified!

Besides a CPL without an IF rating is just a glorified PPL.
People, if I offended anybody with the above post, then I apologise. JUST DONT BE SO SENSITIVE! IMHO the chap with the IF rating is the better qualified person.

See you guys in Maun for a cold one some time!
