Light aircraft crash lands at Bankstown

A man has escaped injury after crash landing a single engine aircraft at Bankstown Airport in Sydney's west.
The plane hit the runway about noon (AEDT) on Tuesday but the male pilot, who was flying solo, was later given the all-clear by paramedics, airport spokeswoman Meredith Laverty said.
His age, level of experience, or what might have caused the crash was not yet known, she said.
The airport activated its emergency response plan and police, fire crews and ambulance attended the scene.
The runway is currently closed and is expected to reopen later on Tuesday afternoon.
The airport's two other runways will continue to operate, Ms Laverty said.
