The television coverage tracked Concorde climbing out towards LHR. It missed the tailman moving forward to lead the Reds formation, which then broke away and turned as one 9 Hawk wide 'wing' in a 30 degree bank to the North West - just as it passed over my house about a mile West of the Palace. Stunning!
What a shame helicopters were relegated to camera-ship duties!
A big helicopter formation is very impressive, as anyone who's seen the AAC display at MW will confirm.
