Heh chaps it is 33k euro at present. I looked into obtaining the vat after I completed the course with a specialist tax accountant. There are so many hoops to jump through and in the be and end all you wont get the vat back.
Ryanair would of course tell you how to do it if you could.

What everybody says, with them being an average company, well I earn excellent money £60k equiv as an FO, £100k Equiv as a cpt, now with great benefits (holidays, pension, etc) and paying for the type is the best thing I ever did.£60k as an FO is more pay than Captains get in feeder airlines (Flybe, Eastern, Bmi regional)etc.

All airlines ask for a type rating payment these days apart from the usual BA, Virgin etc but lets face the facts you aren't going to be employed by those airlines with no experience.

Unfortunately bite the bullet pay for the type and get a jet type rating in the age where there are no jobs in the industry going round. Trust me its worth it!!!
