Gloucester, ah yes, now there is a pleasant destination.

If you approach from the south Gloucester nestles in a bowl pretty much surrounded by low hills. For that reason it often seems to have its own micro climate.

Arriving over Cheltenham dont forget to spot GCHQ - or the donut. It is our top secret installation where they film Spooks and are of course probably monitoring your every call on the radio. At any rates it is an impressive structure.

The airports fine. The daily commercial service to the Isle of Man causes a little disruption. If you get caught by passenger loading time or departure expect a little delay. The cafe (through the "terminal" turn left) is pleasant enough and better than most.

Gloucester is a dump - dont bother - unless you like Cathedrals.

Cheltenham is a gem - good resteraunts, shops and pleasant enough to just stroll around. Look out for the booze shop with a different - they sell a vast selection of fine malts and other spirits and run a little brasserie. If you are not flying, a glass of port and their cheese board is very pleasant.
