I have multiple drives and partitions, I have Linux (almost never used) XP not used for about 6 months and windows 7.
I have flapped in and out of all the drives moving data about, using W7's explorer with no problems at all.

Have you posed the question on the windows 7 forums to see if anyone over there has the same problem?
