Crash pilot stole plane
Adelaide police will interview a 26-year-old man who crashed a stolen aircraft on a road at Pooraka in the northern suburbs during the evening peak hour.
The Cessna 150 was taken from the apron at Parafield Airport, but had not flown far before it clipped a pole and crashed into another one on Montague Road.
The plane came to rest metres away from houses and peak-hour traffic.
One of the first to the accident scene was Joe Amadio, who has a pilot's licence.
"The pilot was still inside the aircraft, the plane was leaking a lot of fuel and I did my best from what I know to immobilise the aircraft by turning off the fuel, all the electrics and pulling out the pilot."
The northern suburbs man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a stable condition with multiple shoulder fractures.
