BALPA's statement that they would not move from "recuitment" to "recognition" until they had a mandate from all bases.
Hi guys, not a pilot, don't work in aviation but have a background (look through my previous posts) and got up a few noses on this subject in a RYR thread. I am a strong trade unionist, not a rabid leftie.

The above statement does not make sense to me. Any ballot is to be among the pilots of Jet2, not on a base by base basis, indeed, the overseeing body, probably electoral reform society or such, will not distinguish between bases. The body that is ASKING for the vote is is BALPA and you, the members, are it.

AHF has it right in his post of 27th as have several others stating that the company has nothing to fear. All workers in whatever industry want their company to prosper and employee input is to be welcomed. Those who wish to remain aloof from BALPA simply lose their voice.
