You mean like this?
1) Hit the reply button on the message you want to quote from.
2) Go to the address bar at the top of the page and delete the "1" at the far RHS of the address.
3) Hit enter.
The original message will then be displayed on the normal 'reply to thread' window. You can compose your own reply underneath. If you only need to refer to a limited section of the original message you can edit the unwanted wording out.
