Of course I spotted the edit - but I'm not sure what it was there for. I simply mentioned the name of a well known copy protection scheme and offered no information about how to get around it. I also apologised for providing a link to such information and offered to withdraw that earlier post so that the original thread could perhaps be restored.

As for why I can't even mention the name of a copy protection scheme - isn't that rather like saying that I can't mention the name of a lock manufacturer (e.g. Yale, Chubb)?

I think we can all live without any more copies of Neil Diamond's recordings - but as I've already written - the purpose of the original thread was to dicuss how to play copy protected audio CDs on a PC, not how to copy them. The fact that many won't play on PCs has been widely acknowledged and some retailers have offered refunds or replacements.

So I guess the only advice we can dispense here is - if it won't play on your PC - take it back and ask for a refund.
