The chaps from "The Speedbird" did not tend to cope terribly well with the recruitment process in the last DEC drive from what I recall, hence only the handful who currently grace the left seat of our 777s. They tended to fall down on adaptability issuses probably as a result of having worked in a mono cultural environment for the majority of their careers.

Excellent pilots I am sure but mabe a bit of a struggle to adapt to the over cautious, rigidly S.O.P. driven, a_se covering, culture at EK.
Whilst I wholeheartedly disagree with the policy , if we are going to have DECs thrust upon us I would rather they came from the likes of BA beacuse they will ultimately prove to be a thorn in TCAS side. There are very few BA pilots who will put up with the kind of bull!!!!! that we have to without raising hell. Bring them on I say.
