Read the first part of his sentence (strangely omitted in your post): "Canada is teeming with Canadian born and trained pilots.
Some of our ladies and gentlemen are highly experience(d)".
His point was not that any Canadian pilot is better than any American pilot, but that there is no shortage of native talent in Canada.
