The problem I had on my stressful journey through LHR was that we were booked on two different booking codes for DUB-LHR and LHR-BOM. Aer Lingus couldn't give us our BA boarding cards in Dublin, and BA wouldn't give them to us.
If you do it again, you could probably check-in online for the BA sector and print your own boarding pass before depating DUB.
