Qantas dont run the Degree course. That coyurse is run by Swinburne. Occassionally Qantas will place a student on the degree course and even though Qantas do not contribute financially to this course, they go out of their way to ensure those "cadets" are well known to the rest of the course and are ostracised from the rest of the group.

Unfortunately Qantas hasn't realised how long it takes to train a cadet and have decided not ot run a cadet course in 2009. But then why would Qantas want to plan for future pilot requirements, they can quite easily take pilots from the regional airlines whenever they want leaving the regionals short of pilots.

As well as taking the instructors from the flight schools. When Qantas decides to start hiring again most of the better flight schools will lose their senior instructors to Qantas leaving them with a shortage of experienced senior instructors. This has got to affect program deliveries.
