It was made clear that they would indeed accept the one off costs of re-typing people to fill gaps left on fleets where people take up an option with those from fleets that are quieter.

There is no nice way for anyone to lose their job, but I still cant see anything which the management could do to make the process less painfull.

They have offered a more than generous package to those who believe they are in the 'firing line', lets not forget most employers would have let people go some time back and at the legal minimum which is notice period plus a month for every year served.
