Globaliser, they have stripped out that intermediate booking page with the bag drop/checkin choice dropdown. I see no reminder at all on that page of the fact that there is a mandatory checkin surcharge for all non-promotional flights. In fact NOWHERE is there a disclosure of it in the buying process unless you stop and query why you can't avoid it by researching their small print and forums like this where the change is discussed.
I see now what's happening.
However, if the web check-in fee is displayed before booking and charged upfront, I can't see anything legally wrong with it.
Not that any of this makes me any more inclined than before to travel with FR.
