The armed escorts from my understanding are there due to the unstable nature of the Govt not due to crime. Nigeria has a high rate of military coups and having a police presence in the vehicle will assist the crew move through any roadblocks set up.

Really there is not much any of us can do one way or the other where we fly to, it's up to the Airline if they say fly to lagos then unfortunately guys you must fly to lagos.. I am pretty sure most of you are not local pilots and that means you either can't get a job back home due to lack of opportunities or the pay is too low.
I really wish you guys all the best and for those who dont want to come to lagos i hope you get your wish.
