It was a deceased airline. Vague assurances 'that it could have been rescued' are worthless. That's business life. It went down the pan, and the remaining assets were carved off as required, the rest discarded. It's exactly the same everywhere, and will be the same with LDV, Jaguar, Chrysler, store chains, fashion shops, the works. It was not a takeover or merger. Sad for the victims, but it's business. Anyone who comes out of such a situation with a job should breathe thanks. It wasn't BALPA that did it. BALPA had a weak hand in trying its best with BA. It's history- time to move on.
