According to an article in Business Week, Virgin are starting a freight run six nights per week from tomorrow carrying Toll freight between Melbourne and Darwin. The Westwinds are being retired after 30 years of service, so I guess, unless they can find some charter work, they wont need crews. Understand from a source in Darwin that helicopters are using the hangar and Air Rescue are based in the terminal attached to the hangar. End of an era, those Westwinds must have 40,000 plus hours.
