I said no a while ago when they asked if I would take a job under the ban. No actual offer. I spoke to a guy yesterday who said yes and has been given a start date for mid July. Apparently a course of 20. Makes you wonder how effective the ban is. I'm also beginning to wonder if I did the right thing. Those of us respecting the ban are being passed by and missing a great career oppurtunity while the rest are getting jobs at Cathay. Dosnt seem right does it?
I must admit I feel IFALPA have got it wrong with this ban. I understand their support for the HKAOA but as a member of an IFALPA affiliated union they have an obligation to me as well. They are supposed to be looking after my interests as well. At the moment this IFALPA ban is doing my career harm. To make it worse it dosnt seem to be working if they can put together a course of 20 for July. So, as an IFALPA member I'm respecting an ineffective ban and all the others are passing me by. Also dosnt seem right. Not only have 49 guys been affected but this ban is affecting many others as well now.
