Ryanair may be a lot of things but they're not ageist. I know plenty of people who joined the wrong side of 40. Unlike the majority of national airlines in Europe (perhaps with the exception of BA), they don't care where you come from, how old you are or what colour you are - they want decent pilots who will fit into the organisation.

As well as being non ageist, they also take people from all walks of life - teachers, plumbers, dentists, electricians - you name it! If they think you can do the job and fit in with them, then you're in. Be yourself during the interview and don't fly like the village idiot during your sim chx. Be wary though if you've got a bit of flying experience, they may expect a little more from you during the sim chx - a few extra emergencies thrown in etc., which is not unreasonable.
