An ETOPS alternate is an ETOPS alternate. Period. It belongs to ETOPS planning minima for en-route alternates.
Some coincidences, like being the destination aerodrome, shall not be considered (e.g. dest aerodrome below minima and/or without wx info: no way to still use it just nominating two destination alternates
