It seems the most popular means of getting loans for flying is to first get a Career development loan - Max £8000 payment delayed for 2 Years - To cover PPL, ATPL theory and a possibly IMC or hour building, then try to get an HSBC proffesional studies loan for the rest. (This means you have to go the modular route.)

There are training organisations that can give you good advice. And colleges such as Pilot Assist can even give you help in getting the loans.

Sponsorships seem few and far between at the moment, and normally you have to put up 10-25K, they often ask for PPL and 150hrs as a pre-requisit. But keep your eyes peeled.
There are also BA cadetships, but even when they are recruiting competition is very tough.

If you find an easy way let me know!

Good Luck.
