I must confess that I had not previously considered Topbunk's argument re staff of other airlines travelling with BA. It seems to me that the same restrictions should be applied to them or alternatively that ex- BA employees should be permitted to continue to fly with other airlines. A job for BALPA! We must face the fact that it is becoming cheaper to staff travel with AF/KLM for example because of the increasing UK taxes. In my case, I will be 89 when I lose my concession so I will consider myself lucky to be here.
However my understanding is that I now have 2 x 100% bookable concessions, whereas previously one was space available. Not mind you that bookable means much unless you want to go to Tehran on Christmas day.
PS I definitely preferred the top bunk.
