Not sure where you are coming from as you are not comparing like for like.
Bristol had two based FR units in 2008 & 2009 and their loss was due to
easyjet cuts (yes the odd route did cross with FR) and no Excel based unit in 2009.
BHX had no FR based units in Feb 2008 and four in 2009 carrying around
70000 extra pax (estimate). It would be fair to say that BMI Baby might
not have reduced their based units without the FR base but this was probably only about 20000 worth of pax.
Love or hate ryanair bhx would have been about another 50000 down
in February.
Whether they destroy the other operators at bhx is another argument
probaby for another day but the simple fact is without them this winter bhx would have shown some awful pax figures.
