Was QF ever thinking of using the A330s to go transpac? Aren't they just for 'regional' (ie. Asian) services? The existing 763s were doing HNL-YYZ but not any non-stops - BA do LHR-CPT, LHR-PEK, LHR-GRU and LHR-SFO all non-stop with their 777s so they must have some legs on them? Do QF want to use anything smaller than 744s transpac? Sounds like they're all into hubbing with AA rather than point-to-point... they had a chance to think about that when they could have gone for 777ERs...
