Whilst we are on the subject of rumours, try this one on for size.
BA want RR 767s back so they can sell ALL of theirs to the RAF for the tanker upgrade. This assists BAs bleeding bottom line.
That leaves QF short of capacity so QF gets some 777s currently under utilised by BA- again assisting with BAs bottom line.
Still takes delivery of A330s but with an eye to forwarding them onto Boeing within 12-18 monts.
Boeing also has cheap 777s available for delivery in the medium to longer term.
BA happy because bottom line looks good.
QF happy because it helps out 'Mother' and gets cheaper aircraft in longer term for similar priced A330s.
Boeing happy as they get nice order from QF and remains all Boeing until the A380 gets off the ground. Ace up the sleeve of Boeing remains the Sonic Cruiser which may yet trump the A380 in a few years time!
Just todays consipiracy theory!!
