Speaking as an (ex) NG line captain, i would rather have a simple A/T malfunction than someone flashing/shouting 'Radalt Comparator Warning' as well. That would totally throw me!
It is enough for me that,when it really matters, Boeing assures me that a radalt misreading will cause the autopilots to drop out on a dual channel approach.
Even then, I might not have time to work out why but at least I know what I have/don't have.
Too much information on the status of non essential equipment is undesireable during the approach
