foresight: Automation confusing or not informing the crew is just bad design. As RichieD writes either there is redundancy and fallback with equipement like this or it should be left out.
The risk with this is "perceived" safety with systems that have some serious bugs. Perhaps Boeing/Airbus overpromising and underdelivering on automation?
