Seems our faith in the mighty Boeing design philosphy will have been shaken here,i recall reading a while ago on here a debate about moving throttles,strangly this situation would have been prevented with the Airbus alpha floor funtion wayy before the situation escalated into CFIT,automation must surely be the way forward as regardless of how many hours we have on a particular type sometimes us pilots need saving from ourselves...
seems the old fashioned instrument scan was overlooked here by three pilots very sad but very eye opening for all of us.........
