I agree totally. I sat my CPL course during jan/feb, and therefore missed out by one month of the $50 fee. I then found out that it would cost me over $500 to sit.
I am doing an aviation course at uni, and our lecturers are encouraging all of us to complain.
What I want to know is why are CASA still taking their $50 if they now have next to nothing to do with it? And then they take another $50 on re-sitting?
I got a pamphlet in the post from Airservices, which was a questionaire. The prizes included GPS systems and a jacket. The question was "Why aren't people flying anymore?" I basically told them what I thought, perhaps a bit too rude so I doubt I will win anything.
The sad thing is this system is now in place and pretty unlikely to go away for a while.
