EI, I believe, hold the 3rd highest number of slots out of LHR. And yes they bring alot of BA's long haul passengers over from Ireland. Seems a good move by BA to make an offer to protect it's market. Major problem seems to be O'Leary/Ryanair and the 30% shareholding of EI. In fact until this is reduced I cannot see any major airline looking at EI.
