I think things must be clarified. First of ll Gulfjet doesn't belong to a single owner. I think it is totally wrong to name people in the forum, especially when you are in the US with no clue of what really happened (it would be nice if you could remove the name of this man that you don't know).
If it's true that worked salaries are due, you have to know that your friend like many of us did sign a contract with a probation period during which he could have been terminated without any notice. This is the labor law in UAE and everybody knows it. Of course legal action can be undertaken by your friend to get his salaries back but I admit it's not gonna be easy.
The company has been loosing a lot of money during the last 2 years, backed up by the owners investing more and more while the management was just doing the poorest job it could.
