With regard to European flights, it appears that the Saturday charter flight from Zurich has been dropped for 2009. Although the Swiss tour operators (RMR/Falcon) are still offering holidays in the Islands, they will utilise the Blue Islands flights from Geneva and Zurich.
Potentially this is encouraging because it offers Geneva as an additional departure point, and allows better opportunities for short-breaks. Blue Islands did appoint an agency in Switzerland to promote the routes to the travel trade in December, so it will boost passenger numbers for them too.
