Some people in this buisiness just get a P45 and told to walk, with pay in lieu of course.
That happened to quite a few people last October, with 9/11 being quoted as the main reason.
End result was that some of the people that were kept then ended up working double shifts for weeks due to lack of staff!
Now, they're taking on loads of people to meet the demand, which is even higher than last summer. In the meantime, the experienced people, and there are a few, are being hammered with all the extra work, and having to watch the new (very raw) recruits like hawks to make sure they don't get hurt or worse.
