Simon10, has your doctor done any testing to rule out Coeliac Disease?
Sometimes coeliac disease can be mis-diagnosed as IBS or vice-versa as the symptoms can be very similar.
If he has ruled it out, good stuff. If not, suggest a blood test for starters, then an endoscopy if the blood test results show that it is warranted.
My sister was diagnosed as a coeliac 5 years ago, at the age of 28.
The family were advised to get a blood test to rule it out, although the blood test results are not always conclusive.
