I stand corrected.
There are indeed wide body charter flights ex BHX during the late morning period. However these once daily Thomsonfly long-haul flights depart during the mid to late morning, the most quiet period for departing scheduled services.
The problem on that particular occasion was probably caused by staff sickness. Generally even during the summer months BHX copes as well if not better than its competitors when it comes to waiting for security, immigration and baggage handling.
