In your day Highland Aero Club was the social wing of Inverness Flying Services Ltd. trading as Highland Flight Centre.

G-BFLU (Lulu) was sold to the Atlantic owned competitors Air Alba by Highland Flight Centre when they decided to cease operations in 1993. She lives on with them in Coventry.

Aerobat G-BIHE was similarly sold off with the closure of the centre and was sadly written off in an accident within a couple of years.

G-BHJO was sold off to a private group of HAC members and remains to this day at Inverness.

Hangar Committee:

The volunteer hangar committee absorb the administrative workload of the waiting list, aircraft parking spaces etc. from HIA. The hangar committee is not HAC. It consists of some local aircraft owners, the majority of which happen to be members of HAC. The hangar committee's purpose and effectiveness has been historically undermined by HIA when local aircraft owners approach HIA directly for hangarage and are granted it on presentation of a cheque for the appropriate fee. This makes a mockery of the waiting list. There is at least one aircraft in the hangar whose owner has managed to evade hangarage fees altogether through incompetent bureaucracy.

HFS use the GA hangar centre aisle to overnight their aircraft during cold weather. I don't know if they are paying for hangarage or not.
