The original spam was, as I recall, to one of my "aviation" addresses.
Most of the spam I get (I read some, just for amusement) are from Barrister Mr XXXX YYYY or some similar professional-sounding title that no genuine person would use.
You may recall a few years back there was a great film clip of some 'spoofbuster' who set up a meeting (?Amsterdam?) with the spoofer'. I cannot remember where it was - on Youtube by now, no doubt.
I remember that one - he was in the USA but knew of a webcam covering a particular quiet square in Amsterdam, and recognised the spammer's initial e-mail as coming from there. Lots of e-mails between them along the lines of "You didn't show up" ... "I was there when you arrived. I told you to come alone, but four of you got out of the car".
Didn't they subsequently catch the spammers and lock a large number of them up? I recall cash being seized, and all sorts.
